Murta Goyanes Advogados’s Patent Consultant, Maria Alice Calliari will be attending the IIPRD´s event Symposium on Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology & Chemical Patent Laws, in the next few days.
For three days (from 25th to 27thseptembre), patent professionals for all over the world will be involved in important issues to optimize patent development efforts and understand regulatory particularities across geographies. Marcia Alice will be the brazilian representative to present the functioning of the patent practices in the country. She will discuss the decisions issued by federal courts in Brazil against Brazilian Food and Drug Agency (ANVISA); the enforcement of the new OTC Drug Guidelines in Brazil and the update on compulsory licensing (CL) of pharmaceutical patents in Brazil.
Expert in Intellectual Property from World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and United Nations Development Program (PNUD) for more than 30 years, Alice was the Patent Director and the General Coordinator of industrial designs, geographical indications, software and layout of integrated circuits areas at the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO).
