BPTO and Apex-Brasil execute a technical cooperation agreement to foster the use of IP by Brazilian companies.

 On February 4, 2021, the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) executed a technical cooperation agreement aiming at stimulating the use of Industrial Property (IP) system as strategic tool for Brazilian companies trade abroad, as well as consolidating the use of IP in Apex-Brazil’s investment attraction programs.

 Effective for the next three years, such agreement is one of the structuring initiatives of the BPTO Business Program, focused on enhancing the use of IP system by those domiciled in Brazil, specially companies. Among the expected activities, are the offer to companies of mentoring services via Internet, participation in events and international business and innovation rounds, and the promotion of Geographical Indications for enhancing competitiveness of national products in other countries.
