World Intellectual Property Organization (‘WIPO’) launches guides on identifying and using patent information in the public domain.
Researches, inventors and entrepreneurs will be able to benefit from the new guides recently developed by WIPO to identify and use information in the public domain.
Considering that a particular subject matter is protected under patent rights, several information described in patent documents are in the public domain and may be freely used to develop and launch new products and services to the market.
The guides include training modules, checklists, examples and other useful tools and resources. For example, the guide on using inventions in the public domain shows how to obtain access to and use technology and business information of new innovative products and services, from idea to market.
