Brazil executes PPH agreement with Singapore.

On May 07, 2020, the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BPTO) executed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) for implementing the pilot project Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) between both countries.  Singapore represents the 22nd participant country of PPH, the guidelines of which are stablished by Resolution No. 252 of October 18, 2019.

The PPH with Singapore will expire on April 30, 2025, being valid for all technological fields and limited to 400 requests added to the BPTO’s partner Institutes. Eligible applications must belong to a patent family that comprise a first application filed at the BPTO or IPOS either for national applications or within the scope of the PCT, as Receiving Offices.
