Brazilian National Film Agency launches a public consultation regarding the Regulatory Analysis Report on the Brazilian theatrical market.

The Brazilian National Film Agency (“ANCINE”) launched a public consultation regarding the Regulatory Analysis Report on the Brazilian theatrical market, drafted by ANCINE. The report provides an overview of the theatrical sector, including aspects of the Brazilian market, the specifics compared to other segments of audiovisual exploitation, analysis of the screen quota and recommendations regarding the actions to be taken aiming the development of the theatrical sector and the correction of regulatory failures thereof.

According to ANCINE, the theatrical sector is “the first and main exhibition window for most of the audiovisual works produced, directly affecting the commercial exploitation cycle of the films”.

The public consultation will be available until March 12, 2020, and prior registration within ANCINE’s Public Consultation System is required for participation.
