The BPTO published today for public consultation the draft Resolution about trademark registration in a multiclass system. Interested parties may send suggestions and comments until June 13, 2019.)

The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (“BPTO”) is preparing to implement proceedings for (a) trademark registration in a multiclass system; (b) joint ownership of trademark registrations; (c) divisions of trademark registrations and applications; and (d) trademark registrations under the Madrid Protocol. Four resolutions will be published dealing with trademark registrations under these conditions.

Today, a public consultation was published on the draft Resolution about trademark registration in a multiclass system. Interested parties may send suggestions and comments until June 13, 2019. After such deadline, the BPTO will present the proposals received, the responses to the contributions and the final text of the Resolution.

The BPTO will soon publish public consultations on joint ownership of trademark registrations, on divisions of trademark registrations and applications, and on trademark registrations under the Madrid Protocol.
