Brazil and Denmark expand Strategic Cooperation Project related to Innovation

On March 21, 2019, the Brazilian and Danish governments expanded their Strategic Cooperation Project related to innovation, which is in force since 2015.

For the next three years, the project will be focused on the digital transformation of the Brazilian government and the strengthening of its competences related to Intellectual Property, through the sharing of Danish government experiences – the country is leader in the E-Government Development Index (EGDI). Furthermore, Argentina will participate in this new phase as a guest country.

The Brazilian government expects that more than a thousand services will be digitized in two years by means of this project. As to the Intellectual Property area, the Denmark Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO) is expected to train the BPTO’s patent Examiners, aiming at optimizing and improving the examination of patent applications.
