According to Decree No. 9,660, dated January 1, 2019, the Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office will be under the umbrella of the Ministry of Economy, a combination of three former Ministries: Finance, Planning and part of the Ministry of Development and Foreign Trade. The new Ministry will be headed by Paulo Guedes and its main goals are the pension reform, privatization and simplification of taxes.
