BRPTO publishes new regulations on the recordal and registration of contracts

The Brazilian Patent and Trademark Office (BRPTO) has issued new regulations updating the procedures for the recordal and registration of technology transfer, franchise, and industrial property licensing agreements.

The main points include: (i) Standardization and greater clarity regarding the required documentation and procedural steps; (ii) Simplification and digitalization of administrative procedures, reducing timelines and bureaucracy; (iii) Reinforcement of legal certainty in transactions involving the use and transfer of intangible assets.

These updates represent progress in the modernization of BRPTO services, promoting greater efficiency and predictability in contractual relationships involving intellectual property.
