Antônio Murta, founding partner at MGA, is taking part in one of the most important events in the Brazilian publishing industry — the Rio International Publishers Summit. He will join the panel “Between the Lines of the Law: Legal Challenges of Artificial Intelligence in the Publishing Market”, which takes place on the first day of the summit, June 11 at 4:00 PM.
The panel will address the challenges that new technologies pose to publishing contracts and regulations, and how to ensure legal protection without undermining the sector’s innovative potential. In addition to Antonio, the debate will feature Marcos Alves de Souza (Secretary of Copyright and Intellectual Rights at the Ministry of Culture – @MinC) and Dalton Morato (Legal Director of the Brazilian Reprographic Rights Association – @ABDRlivros). The session will open with remarks by Anita Huss-Ekerhult (Secretary General and CEO of IFRRO – International Federation of Reproduction Rights Organisations).
The second edition of the Rio International Publishers Summit – an initiative of the Brazilian Book Chamber (SNEL) – takes place on June 11–12 at RioCentro. The event is part of the official calendar celebrating Rio de Janeiro as UNESCO’s World Book Capital, and serves as a lead-up to the 2025 Rio International Book Fair.
